Geosearch and Environmental Drilling merge
|STERLING, MA -- November 7, 2002 -- Matthew Bovenzi, President of Geosearch, Inc. has announced the merger of Geosearch and Environmental Drilling, Incorporated. Both are among the top drilling companies in New England, and both are headquartered in Sterling, MA. Distinct areas of specialization gave each company a unique client base, and according to Bovenzi, their services were complementary, not competitive.
Founded in 1989, Geosearch offers environmental drilling and construction as well as specialized services including Geoprobe direct push well installation, air vacuum excavation for situations where drilling is not feasible or where zero-impact is critical, and drilling in low-clearance, confined or interior spaces. Environmental Drilling's expertise includes geotechnical/environmental drilling for superfund sites, military base closures, large industrial sites, and major geotechnical investigations. EDI, founded in 1987, also maintains a Branch Office in Pelham, New Hampshire.
By merging capabilities, Geosearch and EDI created a comprehensive, full service company able to meet the needs of a broader market. Now with over 45 employees, it is the leading company of its kind in the Northeast. Equipment, crew, and services are located at the Geosearch facility on Chocksett Road in Sterling, MA. The management and field personnel of each company will remain intact, and each company will act autonomously to assure a smooth transition for customers.
The merger was facilitated by Banknorth Massachusetts. Its president and CEO, Christopher Bramley, states "Banknorth Massachsuetts is pleased that we were able to work with a local business owner to develop some creative solutions to make this terrific merger possible. This is a case where our direct knowledge of, and faith in the management of Geosearch, was the impetus for Banknorth 'rolling up our sleeves' to get the deal done."
